In 2020, more than 60% of Longview/Kelso students qualified for free or reduced price lunches. What does this mean? More than 10,000 students in the Longview/Kelso area were living close to or at the poverty level at the beginning of the last school year. With unemployment levels reaching record highs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our students need our support more now than ever before.
In the Longview/Kelso area, we've partner with Youth & Family LINK to help distribute school supplies to local kids in need. Youth & Family LINK offers many programs and services to those kids in our community who have not been reached by other organizations in the area. Every year, LINK distributes thousands of pounds of school supplies donated by the community during Fill the Canoe to those students who need it most.
As Longview/Kelso students begin the 2021-2022 school year, they are facing new challenges that come with unique requirements. Your donations will help Youth & Family LINK acquire the necessary resources to support Longview/Kelso students throughout the coming school year.
