In Covington, our students are part of the larger Kent School District. In 2019, more than 50% of the students in this district were coming from low-income homes, and had nearly 300 homeless studentsWith unemployment levels reaching record highs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our students need our support more now than ever before.

Our Fill the Canoe partner in Covington is The Storehouse. Since 1999, The Storehouse has brought together community churches, businesses, groups and citizens to help feed local families. They have also created a unique Back to School resource fair for families with school-age children to help prepare kids to succeed in their educational journey. In 2019, they distributed hundreds of pounds of school supplies donated by the community through Fill the Canoe to children in need.

As Covington students begin the 2020-2021 school year, they are facing new challenges that come with unique requirements. Your donations will help The Storehouse acquire the necessary resources to support Covington students throughout the coming school year.

100% of the funds raised through our online Fill the Canoe Back to School Drive will be matched by Red Canoe Credit Union*, then given directly to The Storehouse.
